TKAM paragraph

The court scene in the book, To Kill a Mockingbird is a very important part of the plot. This passage of the book shows us how good of a man Atticus is, and how he is respectful and polite to everyone, whether they deserve it or not. An example of this is on page 253, when Atticus tells his kids that a white man who cheats a black man is trash. On the other hand, this court scene also shows us that small-minded people can be very cruel and unfair to people that aren’t exactly the same as them. There is proof of this when Atticus stands up for black people, basically saying how they’re treated isn’t right, and tells the court how it’s obvious Tom isn’t guilty, but people still accuse him because he’s black, and that's how people in their society treat black people. Obviously people are very unfair because they don’t even look at the evidence or the trial, they just pronounce Tom guilty. So, these are a few reasons why this court scene is very important, and it tells us about Atticus’s character and proves that some people are racist and unfair.

Comments:
Beautiful. Just beautiful. It brought tears to my eye. But really, it was good and I think you did a good job of following the steps. You might want to change some of the vocabulary, though. O by the way this is from steph if you didn’t already know.

Leslie said: I really liked your paragraph. I’m not sure if it all the way followed the format, but it was still really great. It explained everything that it was supposed to. I think there might be some punctuation in the wrong spot and some misspelled words. This was an awesome paragraph and I like your thinking.
Madison said: you did great just add some more examples. I liked the whole thing btw you look really cute today!

journal entry :))))))

My four day weekend was actually pretty lame, because I was grounded, so I ended up not doing anything that fun. I went to Utah with my family to go shopping, but that's about it. Then, I also went to my g-ma's to play with my little cousins, which is always fun. :) We all went out to dinner, which was pretty exciting because there were a ton of little kids, and not that many adults, so it was a cRaZy night!

So, all in all it was a pretty boring weekend, but it was pretty nice just to sleep and relax and not have any homework. This is pretty much how my four day weekend went. :))))))))))))))

T.K.A.M :)

I think that Scout is too young to hear all about the rape case, because she is only like, ten years old or something, so she probably wouldn't understand the whole trial and stuff anyway. But on the other hand, since people in Maycomb are so mean to Jem, Scout, and Atticus, I think that Atticus should try to explain a couple details about Tom Robinson, just so she isn't totally confused. So this is what I think about whether or not Scout should hear all of the details of the rape case!

My book

My book is called, "That Summer." I decided to read this book because I had read other books by the same author, and I wanted to see if this book was as good as others I had read by the same author. I liked this book because it seemed really down-to-earth and it had a good message! Also, at the end it left you feeling happy! So, this is what I think about the book that I am reading. :)

To Kill A Mockingbird Questions

1.~Why didn't Atticus tell Jem and Scout how good he was at shooting?
2.~Why doesn't Dill come to visit Scout and Jem one summer?
3.~Did Mrs. Dubose send Jem a white camillia to show that she had forgiven him, or that she was still mad?
